Loudoun's own Chef Eloy Carrera, creator and owner of a line of fresh salsas using local produce, recently received national promotion from none other than Emeril Lagasse. Hosting the "Emeril Green" show on the channel Planet Green, Lagasse used the salsa in a segment promoting healthy, fresh-and-local food products.

Chef Eloy began making his salsas back in the 1970s when he and his late wife operated the Carlos Gardel restaurant in Adams Morgan.

Currently, his "Kickin' Salsas" are available at the Whole Foods in Virginia, Maryland and D.C., as well as the Lowry's Crab Shack in Hamilton and Loudoun's farmers markets in Leesburg, Ashburn, Purcellville, and Cascades.
